Wominjeka Services is a community-focused organisation founded from the experiences of a young Indigenous mother of four who felt a deep responsibility not only for her children but also for her community. Recognising the pressing need for support and resources that resonate with our culture and values, we embarked on a journey to uplift Indigenous families by providing them with the necessary tools and support to thrive.
The name “Wominjeka,” meaning “To Come with Purpose” or most commonly known as “welcome” in the Woiwurrung language of the wurundjeri people, embodies our mission. We aim to create an inviting and supportive environment where families feel valued and heard. Our initiatives are rooted in the belief that when we come together with purpose, we can drive meaningful change within our community.
As Wominjeka Services has grown, it has evolved into more than just a service; it has become a beacon of hope and empowerment for Indigenous individuals and families. We focus on initiatives that celebrate our culture, offer practical assistance, and foster a sense of belonging.
Our guiding principle is to serve with intention, ensuring that our actions reflect our commitment to our people and our culture. Every step of the way, we strive to create a lasting impact that begins with a mother’s love and the desire to make a difference. We take pride in our mission and are grateful for the community’s embrace of Wominjeka Services.
Join us in our journey as we continue to support and empower Indigenous families, fostering a strong, connected community where everyone can thrive.
